IFTA is India’s 1st people’s Choice Awards, with an aim to acknowledge and acclaim the versatile talent in the Indian Film, Television, OTT and Music industries.

Team IFTA believes that there is no better judge than the audience. So IFTA gave the voting rights to the ultimate consumers of the content – the viewers. There is no jury or panel involved in making the decision for the winner.

IFTA has a dedicated market research team that works diligently to find the potential list of nominees who then compete to win the particular category. Spread across various categories, the IFTA market research team makes nomination lists based on primary & secondary market research and analysis. These lists are then made public for the audience to vote. The Nominee getting the highest number of votes Wins that particular award category.

About the Instagram Poll Challenge

Besides online public voting, IFTA has introduced the Instagram Poll Challenge for the very first time.

To make this challenge functional, an Instagram story was put on the official Instagram page of IFTA, informing the viewers about respective Award category and whom they’d want to see as the Poll Challengers. For example, the Instagram story for this particular category would say: “Nominate a Stylish TV Actress for the Poll Challenge”. Based on the audience’s reaction, the top four names that pop up the maximum number of times, make it to become the final four Poll Challengers.

These Poll Challengers then compete through three different rounds of Instagram Poll Challenges. If a Poll Challenger:

1. Wins 1 out of the 3 poll challenges, then the Winner gets 10% bonus votes of her total votes on IFTA voting site.

2. Wins 2 out of the 3 poll challenges, then the Winner gets 15% bonus votes of her total votes on IFTA voting site.

3. Wins all the 3 poll challenges, then the Winner gets 20% bonus votes of her total votes on IFTA voting site.

The IFTA voting site only allowed Voters with Indian Phone numbers to Vote. Due to this reason, the Instagram poll challenge was introduced to give International Fans an opportunity to Vote for their favourite celebrity.

And the Winner is….

Currently ruling the Naagin universe with her acting chops, this actress is surely at the peak of her career. It is none other than Tejasswi Prakash who topped the chart with 5773 votes including 20% bonus votes for winning all three poll challenges. Tejasswi has never failed to impress the public with her style and chirpy attributes. Even with her wardrobe selection, she knows how to catch the eyes of the viewers. What also adds to her style is the innocence that she has in her personality.

At number two is Pranali Rathod with 4651 public votes. Pranali plays Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and is known for her simplicity and the confidence with which she carries herself. The relatable factor in her personality resonates with the audiences and it is her sweet voice and humble attitude that adds to her style.

At number three is Shehnaaz Gill with 1966 votes. She became one of the most crucial reasons for people to watch Bigg Boss 13. Her innocence and easygoing vibe resonated with people. Shehnaaz has a very quirky yet attractive style and she speaks her mind with no filters which increases her fondness manifold. The zen-like quality and the way she interacts with people, adds to her style that stands out.

Some honourable mentions

At the fourth spot is Shivangi Joshi with 1710 votes. She shot to fame after she appeared in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as Naira. Soon after she became the most popular face on television. She still holds the position quite strong and her style and fashion sense surely keep her viewers entertained.

Current Bigg Boss contestant Priyanka Chaudhary attains the fifth spot. Following her are the popular names like Hina Khan, Jennifer Winget, Rubina Dilaik, Mouni Roy, and so on.
