IFTA is India’s 1st people’s Choice Awards, with an aim to acknowledge and acclaim the versatile talent in the Indian Film, Television, OTT and Music industries.

Team IFTA believes that there is no better judge than the audience. So IFTA gave the voting rights to the ultimate consumers of the content – the viewers. There is no jury or panel involved in making the decision for the winner.

IFTA has a dedicated market research team that works diligently to find the potential list of nominees who then compete to win the particular category. Spread across various categories, the IFTA market research team makes nomination lists based on primary & secondary market research and analysis. These lists are then made public for the audience to vote. The Nominee getting the highest number of votes Wins that particular award category.

The role of Supporting Actors in Television

Indian soap operas run for several years and establish a bond with the viewers. Along with the main leads, the supporting actors who feature in these serials also become household names. The influence of these characters is so much that people mostly know them by the name of their fictional characters.

Hence, it becomes crucial to acknowledge the efforts of these parallel leads, who not just grace the screen with their presence but also bring an unexpected plot or twists to the serials.

And the Winner is…..

With a total of 3969 votes, Mayank Arora wins the award for his performance in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Mayank plays Kairav Goenka on the show, who is Naira and Kartik’s son. Mayank adds a tinge of realism to his portrayal of the character and the righteous values that his character essay on screen resounds with the likabilities of the viewers.

On the second spot, Manit Joura makes a thumping impression for essaying the role of Professor Jeet Patel in Naagin 6. With 1189 votes it is pretty evident that Manit’s portrayal of Jeet on the show is clearly winning hearts. His on-off equation with the main lead Pratha is amongst the most favourite tracks for the viewers.

On the third position, Paras Kalnawat makes his presence felt with 1142 votes for playing Anupamaa’s younger son Samar on the show Anupamaa. The actor’s chemistry and the love track with Nandini were widely appreciated.

Some Honourable Mentions

At number four is Kanwar Dhillon for his performance in Pandya Store. His character Shiva Pandya was one of the most crucial characters on the show and Kanwar gave an endearing efforts for his role.

The fifth spot and following are taken by Amit Bhatt for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Shakti Arora for Kundali Bhagya and Kinshuk Vaidya for Woh Toh Hai Albelaa.
