IFTA is India’s 1st people’s Choice Awards, with an aim to acknowledge and acclaim the versatile talent in the Indian Film, Television, OTT and Music industries.

Team IFTA believes that there is no better judge than the audience. So IFTA gave the voting rights to the ultimate consumers of the content – the viewers. There is no jury or panel involved in making the decision for the winner.

IFTA has a dedicated market research team that works diligently to find the potential list of nominees who then compete to win the particular category. Spread across various categories, the IFTA market research team makes nomination lists based on primary & secondary market research and analysis. These lists are then made public for the audience to vote. The Nominee getting the highest number of votes wins that particular award category.

Iconic Dance Numbers are a Blessing of Great Choreography

Madhuri Dixit is known for her graceful dances and her expressions. What goes into making that happen? It is the choreographer who moulds the artist into an exquisite dancer. Madhuri spent several years with legendary choreographer Saroj Khan before entering into movies and had done a lot of work with her even after that. They worked on a lot of projects together up till Saroj Khan bid her final adios to the world.

Choreographers train actors to dance in a particular manner and across various dance forms. They are already aware of the tone and pitch of the song and also when it will be played in the respective film. Keeping all those things in mind, a choreographer creates a dance set, that is later to be followed by the actors and actresses.

The Choreographer who created an Iconic Dance Number is……

This song became a national sensation, the life of the parties, a trend on social media, and whatnot! Those sensuous moves by Samantha and the chemistry between her and Allu Arjun that sparkled between intricate dance steps, were something that caught the attention of the viewers. With 613 votes, Ganesh Acharya won the award for the most popular Bollywood Choreographer for O Antava from Pushpa.

Surprisingly Ganesh attains the second position as well for choreographing Param Sundari from Mimi. This was a fun song and an exposition for Kriti Sanon’s character in the film. Ganesh created steps that transported us to the world of Mimi successfully. Another thing about Ganesh’s choreography is that he doesn’t try too hard to create an extremely complicated step. All his dance numbers can easily be followed by the public and that is what translates into the love he gets from audience.

The third spot is secured by Kruti Mahesh with 462 votes for Dholida from Gangubai Kathiawadi. This song comes in the movie when Gangu played by Alia Bhatt decides to celebrate Navratri in the brothel. The song’s dance steps are so accurately choreographed that Kruti manages to give a strong Gujarati taste to the song.

Some Honourable Mentions

At number four is Sekhar Master for Saami Saami from Pushpa. The hook step of this song is still extremely popular. Thanks to Sekhar for giving such an easy step that the viewers love copying every now and then.

The following runners-up include Pyush Bhagat and Shazia Samji for Nadiyon Paar from Roohi, Farah Khan for Tip Tip from Sooryavanshi and Jani for Seeti Maar from Radhe.
